Primary 3 and 4 had a great afternoon making the Minibeast Hotel. Mrs Knox had lots of very keen and willing helpers to fill in the pallets with objects such as pipes, roofing tiles, broken bricks, branches, canes, stones and pine cones. As we approach summer we expect insects to arrive in good numbers and we will be keeping a close watch now that the bug hotel is full hoping that many insects will want to stay there!!!
We will regularly be looking for, identifying and recording the different bugs that are in our Minibeast Hotel. As part of Eco schools we hope that our Minibeast Hotel will raise awareness of biodiversity and living things around us.
Many thanks to all parents who very kindly donated reclaimed materials, to Mr Carlisle for kindly providing a grass roof to keep our hotel dry and waterproof and to Mrs Knox for working with the children to build the Minibeast Hotel.
