Tuesday 3rd May 2016 was a fun filled whole school outdoor learning session for McKinney Primary School. The whole school took part in the Habitat for Humanity Shack Attack Day. The pupils had to work together to plan and build a shack from junk resources. Sixteen fantastic shacks were constructed on the day using:
pallets, an old door, plastic, umbrellas, old rugs, cushions and pillows.
The pupils had to “live” in their shack for the remainder of the day. They enjoyed an outdoor lunch at their shack and played the maths games they had created from junk resources. The topic of waste is one of the topics McKinney Primary School is focusing on in their Eco-Schools programme.
